September: The real beginning of the year

For many people, the year begins in January, with the sound of the bells and the promises made between champagne toasts and grapes.
But for me, the real new year begins in September.

I’ve always felt that this month carries a special energy: it smells of fresh starts, blank notebooks, and brand-new planners. September feels like a change of course, a new cycle that begins with even more strength than the turn of the calendar in January.

Over time, this feeling has only grown stronger. Since working in fertility, I’ve experienced it even more clearly. Summer brings a space for connection (and disconnection), a pause to rest, let go, and recharge. And then September arrives as the door that opens: the moment to return with renewed hope, to look ahead, and to begin again.

In fertility treatments, September becomes a month filled with opportunities. Many people choose to take the next step during this time, carrying fresh energy and hearts full of hope. It’s as if every new cycle, every new attempt, finds in September the fertile ground it needs to bloom.

Because, in the end, life is made of cycles. Just like in nature and within our own bodies, there is always a rebirth after a closure. And September reminds us of exactly that: that we can always begin again, choosing from a different place, with more calm and more awareness.

For me, September smells of new beginnings, fresh energy, and renewed excitement.
And for you? 🌱
